One Day Stunt Workshop

Stunt Academy also offers a short ‘Certificate’ course that can be done as an introduction or just for fun. This One Day Workshop usually offered on weekends, is around 7 hours duration.

Motorcycling, Abseiling, Stage Combat, Wirework, High Falls and Theory are just some of the activities offered providing there is sufficient interest. Average cost is $450 per Short Course. All instructors are world class stunt performers or athletes in their area of expertise.

If you don't have time to do a full course or you just want to give one of our activities a go, these workshops are ideal. In under a day you'll be doing stunts to rival film stars and who knows you might be receiving freebies and walking down the red carpet in no time. We've got a lot on offer, all of which is guaranteed to give you a thrill.

Agility

To improve your physical agility, coordination, strength, timing and balance, the Commando Style Obstacle Course will challenge you to constantly improve your time score. Using ropes, logs, tyres, tunnels and cargo nets, you will enjoy the use of your physical skills.

Tumbling

You will learn and practice Breakfalls, Shoulder Rolls, Dive Rolls, and improve your Aerial Awareness, Body Rotation and Spin. These are the skills that when practiced regularly, can get you out of trouble, when you want to ensure a safe, trouble free landing. Or when things sometimes go wrong and you might save yourself from injury.

Wirework and ratchets

The latest Action movies are using Wirework Technology to perform and film spectacular flying or falling sequences. Especially useful for movies incorporating Superhumans, huge powerful creatures, and many more situations where Aerial Movement is required. You will experience Jerkbacks, Static Stops, Flying, Flipping and Spinning on our specially designed Rigs, Harnesses and Vests.

Rope Work

You will be carefully shown and allowed to practice roping techniques useful to the Stunt Industry. Advanced Abseil, Forward Rapelling, Climbing, Inverted Abseil, Attaching Ropes safely, Rescue Techniques and much more.

Stage Combat/Theatrical Fighting

You will learn fight scenes using street skill, martial arts and weapons. Understanding film fighting will help you give a more realistic performance for a variety of Stunt Fighting Performances. Using Camera Angles, coupled with exciting and skillfull fight techniques, talented acting by the performers, and appropriate wardrobe, props and careful Direction, an action scene can be believable, spectacular and very entertaining.

Film Scene

Your Fight Scene and some of the training will be filmed for you as a memento of your exciting time at Stunt Academy.

1 Day Seminar

This action ONE day seminar is a great introduction into the film industry's most exciting elements and will give you the thrill of a lifetime. Also a basic understanding of the workings of this industry, and training that will benefit your stunt and acting skills or your 1st important step into a new career. This package includes; Theory, Tumbling, Falls, Fight Choreography and a Filmed Scene. You can have your own Seminar organised for a group of 10 or more.

Specialty Short Courses:

You can take private lessons in any of the following specialty Stunt Skills: Motorcycling, Advanced Abseil, High Falls, Stunt Driving, Theatrical Fighting, Wirework etc.

Motorcycling

There are a variety of motorcycles used at Stunt Academy to improve your precision for safety, and quality performance. The goal is to improve your driving skills to safely execute Action maneuvers like Slides, foot brake turns, precision riding, crashing etc.

Advanced Abseil

You will be carefully shown and allowed to practice roping techniques useful to the Stunt Industry. Advanced Abseil, Forward Rapelling, Climbing, Inverted Abseil, Attaching Ropes safely, Rescue Techniques and much more.

Stunt Driving

We take you to the Performance Driving Centre to learn vehicle handing and maneuvering. Their innovative Skid Pan offers a great opportunity to handle extreme conditions

Stunt Seminars

We can come to your school, college, camp or any venue, and conduct a Stunt Seminar. Perfect for Film Schools, Arts Colleges, or School Drama Groups, wanting an insight into the Stunt Industry. Usually consisting of a theory lecture followed by practical sessions in tumbling, Breakfalls, theatrical fighting, swordplay, low falls and a film scene.
